Stem Cell Therapy is helpful in Treating Diabetes

Diabetes Mellitus is a severe carbohydrate metabolic ailment. The levels of the blood glucose are high due to the reduction in the production of insulin by the beta cells of the pancreatic glands. The decline in the insulin levels may be because of the harm done to the beta cells. These can be restored or cured by infusing the stem cells in the pancreatic chief artery through a catheter.
The subsequent are the diverse procedures which are implicated in the stem cell implant, it comprises of 3 steps and they are:
Step – 1 – The gathering of these cells from the bone marrow: which is done from the same patient or from a healthy contributor. This is done with a slim needle after localizing the area with local anesthesia. It takes about 30 minutes. After this the cells are placed in hyperbaric oxygen chambers, where there are a lot of other resources for stem cells as well.
Step – 2 – The processing of cells in the lab: The lab methods are utilized to gauge the quantity and also quality of the cells which are necessary to restore the affected beta cells.
Step – 3 – The Implantation: The right femoral artery is the most excellent place to insert these cells through a catheter, it takes about 90 minutes. The Ultrasound procedures help the surgeons to direct the catheter into artery.
Once the implant is done, the patient is kept under surveillance to avoid any contra-indications such as – clotting of blood, skin rashes, aches and pains and also bleeding.

Be safe from the disease of diabetes

As it is said prevention is better than cure the same applies in the case of diabetes. There is no cure for diabetes; the individual who gets this disease has to remain with these abnormal blood sugars all his/her life. So, here the wise thing is to protect oneself from this incurable disease.
Since the cause of diabetes is largely attributed to heredity so, be careful from the beginning to be away from this disease. Talk to your doctor on the ways to avert the diabetes.
Have a fitness regime, exercise regularly and have an active life. This will help in long run to decrease the risk of diabetes.
Keep a check on your weight, as most of the overweight individuals will develop diabetes later in their life. One has to be extra careful as he/she may have excess fat deposits in the middle portion on the body.
Have healthy eating habits. Lessen the intake of fried, processed and high calorie content foods. The body should be given limited glucose; this reduces the chances of diabetes to a great extent.
Eat less salt content food, as this increases the blood pressure and high blood pressure makes one prone to diabetes.
Go for the regular monthly check –up for blood glucose level. This becomes more essential if the diabetes runs in your family history.
As much as possible include fresh fruits and vegetables in your everyday diet. The bioflavonoid, present in the fruits and vegetables help in insulin production and limits the glycation. This is essential in keeping the body safe from diabetes.

Diabetic Patient Monitoring

If you are suffering with diabetes; you need to take some precautions, in your day to day life as well and not only at those times, when you feel sick. Here are some precautions that you can take in your everyday life, they are;
• Continuous monitoring of glucose should be done. These levels should be recorded by the patient regularly. Based on the severity of your diabetes, the doctor would prescribe you the correct medication.
• You should take regular doses of medicine i.e. non-insulin drugs or insulin, as have been prescribed.
• Exercise, yoga, and meditation; they really prove to be very useful when followed time to time. The glucose levels get controlled with time. They are to be followed so as to prevent cardiac and hypoglycaemia and other diabetic complications.
• While using the diabetic medications continuously of your sugar level decreased, there are some home remedies that are to be followed are drink some fruit juice or a 250 ml of glucose water.
• If the patient is suffering with serious heart and hypertension problems and suffers with hypoglycaemia; then the patient should be moved to emergency ward for the best treatment.
• Insulin taking patients should follow insulin injection units correctly. Necessary modification in the medication.
• If you are using any drugs like antipyscartic drugs, anti-depressant, and antibiotics. If there is any anaphylaxis it is better to report the prescriber.
• If you are suffering with some irritating foot problems

Tips for diabetes control

Diabetes mainly is divided into two types. Diabetes mellitus and diabetes insipidus are the two types of diseases caused due to variations in the insulin level of the body. Hereditary is also the main cause for diabetes problem. Eating the perfect balanced diet helps in controlling the insulin levels in the body. Changes in the life style and doing regular exercises help in prevention of diabetes problems. There are some effective tips which are recommended by American doctors after research.
Tips to prevent diabetes:
• Losing weight helps in controlling the diabetes levels in the body. Weight loss helps in the reduction of blood sugar levels in the body.
• Control the blood sugar levels in the body. The lowering of the blood sugar in the body helps in controlling the diabetes.
• Enhance the insulin levels in the body. Insulin helps in controlling the blood sugar levels of the body. Aerobic exercise and training for the enhancement of resistance power helps to control the diabetes easily. Fitness program also helps in controlling the weight of the body.
• Plenty of fiber helps in decreasing the weight and increasing the insulin levels in the body.
• Fiber also controls the diabetes and reduces the heart problems.
• A whole grain helps in controlling the weight loss and blood sugar levels in the body.
• Fiber includes items like fruits, Vegetables, nuts and seeds.
• Breads, pasta products, cereals are the whole grains that help in controlling the insulin levels in the body.

Diabetes – Symptoms of diabetes in children

Today diabetes has made its way in all the age group of people may be old age, youngsters, teenagers and children’s too. Once one have been diagnosed with diabetes than it can be treated and can be kept in control but cannot be cured for ever or one can say it cannot be eradicated. Diabetes has some specific symptoms and is to be taken into consideration and the necessary precautions should be taken immediately so that one may not suffer from major risk related to health.
Today it is a dream of every parent that their child should be first in all the fields in comparison with other children’s, due to which child has to go through overload work schedule, may be in studies, or in other extra activities. It is not so that each and every child has the stamina to take all the challenges, due to which he often falls ill and face some regular health problems, and sometimes he may face the problem of diabetes.
Generally in a child, some particular symptoms, if noticed for more than a week, than there are maximum chances of developing diabetes. If a child feels lot of thirsty, sudden weight loss, tiredness, frequent urination problem these are the most common symptoms noticed in child and some typical are stomach pain and vomiting, headache, sudden change in behavior, one not able to understand reason for illness and some pain in stomach for more than a week time, if this kind of symptoms are noticed than there are maximum chances of having diabetes in child, and should immediately consult a doctor and proper way of diagnose should be followed, so that perfect problem can be recognized and treated at the earliest.

Insulin mechanism of action in mammals

  • Insulin is the pancreatic hormone that is secreted in the endocrine part of the pancreatic gland; this hormone helps in maintaining the body carbohydrate levels in the body. This anabolic hormone is produced is metabolized in the liver helps in the formation of glycogen from glucose. In diabetic patients this process is not seen which the body is due to either increased levels of insulin and resistance of insulin in the body or due to improper secretion of insulin by the beta cells.
  • The insulin receptors will increase the sensitivity when the carbohydrate food material is taken. The insulin receptor is with four subunits in which one is with 2 alpha units and 2 with beta units. The C-terminal of the long polypeptide chain undergoes Mitogenic actions.
  • This signaling pathway has two types of one is proximal end and another is downstream. There are some biological changes during the mechanism of this insulin; they may undergo the following biochemical reactions.
  • Glucose reuptake and storage is seen in the liver in patients who are not with this mechanism. Insulin pathway helps in metabolizing the stored insulin. Protein synthesis is carried out due to the lack of insulin and the diabetes suffering patients may suffer with alkaline urine.
  • Lipid synthesis is carried out when the levels of the insulin is increased in the body. Other reactions like Mitogenic responses are also carried out.
  • The termination is carried out by the negative regulators present in the blood stream.

Kinds of Diabetes:

Diabetes is a chronic disease with high sugar levels in the blood.

There are two kinds of Diabetes: Type 1 and Type 2

Type 1 diabetes is believed to be an autoimmune disease which means the body’s immune system attacks the cells in the pancreas that produce insulin. This is most common in people of Northern European descent, especially Finland and Sardinia, followed by African Americans, and Hispanic Americans. It is relatively rare in people of Asian descent. Viral infections and environmental factors contribute to this type of diabetes and is found more in men than in women

Another type is the Type 2 diabetes has strong genetic links, meaning that it is hereditary and tends to run in families. Several genes have been identified and more are under study which may relate to the causes of type 2 diabetes. High blood pressure, high fat and alcohol intake, obesity or overweight, gestational diabetes, etc. are responsible for causing this type of diabetes. If a close relative has this diabetes, certain people groups such as African Americans, Native Americans, Hispanic and Japanese Another significant risk factor for developing this diabetes in increasing age Risk begins to rise significantly at about age 45 years, and rises considerably after age 65 years.

We don’t know exactly what causes diabetes, but all we know is that some people are born with a tendency to develop this disease and then probably a virus or something in the environment triggers the onset of the disease. There is nothing a parent can do to prevent passing this on to the next generation.

About diabetes

Diabetes is the most common disease this world in the present modern age. Right from the children to the old people all are getting affected by this disease. Mostly obese people in their middle or old age are getting affected with it. Some of our food habits can cause this disease, like taking food with many calories, irregularities in time of meals and some other problems. It is mainly caused due to overeating of food and obesity.

When glucose in our blood rises, it creates a situation for diabetes. There is an organ called pancreas, which lies below the stomach and secretes a hormone called insulin, which helps the glucose to be absorbed in the cells of our body. Compared to the present days, earlier very few numbers of people were affected by diabetes. Now a day the number of cases of diabetes patients is high.

Tests are conducted for the determination of blood sugar after taking of meals. If the level of sugar in blood is from 80 to 120 mg in every 100ml of blood then its normal, but when it crosses 160 mg then it will be a concern and considered as diabetes. Therefore, it is advised that a person who is having diabetes should regularly get his sugar levels checked to keep his health in control.

The symptoms of diabetes are many. The problems like skin dryness, frequent urination, weight loss, vision problems, intense hunger, fatigue, body weakness, recovering for injury is slow, and others.

How to avoid juvenile diabetes?

Many children in the present days are being diagnosed with diabetes type 2. Previously diabetes was a disease of the old aged people, but, now children too are contracting the disease.

How do we go about preventing it?

Healthy food is very important to put off diabetes. Most children these days favor to have junk food. Develop a habit in them to build up a taste for foods that are healthy.

  • Exercise is extremely significant. Confirm that the kid is a part of the school sports teams and gets usual physical exercise. Just being slim is not being fit. The body has to work out the extreme energy to put off fat conversion and diabetes.
  • Maintaining the right body weight is extremely significant for a healthy way of life. The majority of children in the present days eat large amounts of the wrong foods and turn out to be overweight, or eat not anything to stay thin.
  • Ensure that the children include a healthy body weight as per their height.
  • Allow your child to learn all about diabetes. If it runs in the family, it is extremely essential for the kid to recognize how painful an illness it is.
  • Maintain a healthy lifestyle in the family. Yes, it is simple to shower the children with chocolates, but avoid it. Uphold a healthy and favorable lifestyle in the house, as a family, to put off diabetes. Follow diabetic diet as recommended by the dietician.
